A Faint Existence

A solo dance work, A Faint Existence is a powerful physical meditation on impermanence, fragility and mortality in the age of climate change. It speaks to our microcosmic existence on a macrocosmic scale, through the form of an individual body facing elemental forces and physical transformation.

With precision, intuition and exceptional physical virtuosity, Kristina Chan explores complex personal connections to our world; confronting our human desire to make change and the feelings of helplessness that can derail our best intentions. Acclaimed composer James Brown performs a live electronic score connecting the intricacies of Chan's choreography in a shifting physical environment created by Clare Britton.

Chan, who is choreographer as well as dancer, has an ability to suspend time that is as exquisite as her phenomenal physical control. She understands the power of stillness and uses it potently
